Our Staff (Old)

At The Child Development Center of America, our knowledgeable and experienced staff plays an important role in achieving successful outcomes. We are proud that our administration has worked together for so many years. The students who have been mentored through our program have gone on to many responsible and worthwhile occupations in children’s health.

Karen Vossen
Practice Administrator
Karen has been with the practice since our inception in 2009. A special needs parent herself, she provides instructions for medication, follow-up appointments, educational concerns and directs many of our patients to appropriate ancillary services. Feel free to call and speak with Karen to discover a practice concerned with exhibiting kindness and friendship within such a complicated condition.
In addition, Karen has instituted an in-house mentoring program for challenged students who are graduating out of the school system.
One of our parents summed it up best when she wrote: “Thank you so much for your kind acts and thoughtfulness. The dedication you have for your patients is exceptional and greatly appreciated as well.”

Ashly Batres
Assistant Practice Manager
Being fluent in both English and Spanish, Ashly plays a huge role in communicating and translating for our South American and primarily Spanish speaking families. She has quickly become our point of contact with many US and International patients from Romania, India, Jamaica, and more. Along with helping the many families who find their way to our office, Ashly was able to help her own family with the information learned from working at our Center, and along with the rest of the team, helps to guide other parents and their children through journeys of their own.

Leilani Hernandez
Patient Care Coordinator

At first, a volunteer Intern and now as a student aspiring to become an Applied Behavioral Analysist, Leilani’s passion for the well being of the patients has earned her permanent status on our team. She has taken on the role as the lead contact in new protocols and works closely with Dr. Udell and the families participating in them. Having a family member on the spectrum, Leilani makes a genuine effort to be interested in all children and is constantly finding new ways to communicate with them through questions, play, non-verbal cues, and sign language when needed. Her ability to connect has helped conduct more thorough evaluations and has given parents and the patients a sense of comfort.

Lisa Martindale
Patient Accounts and Bookeeping
Lisa is a mother of four teenage+ boys, including one child ‘on the spectrum’. With the combination of treatment from our office and the different therapies conducted at home and school, Lisa’s son is a 15-year-old high school student who is doing great academically and overall progressing in different areas of previous concern. Lisa finds joy in being able to be someone who resonates with the hardships and blessings that our parents go through. From advice about programs and therapies to assisting in accounting matters and insurance questions, over the past 7 years Lisa has been able to provide reassurance and comfort when needed most.

Julian Guzman-Ballen
Office Assistant
Julian has been working with the staff at the Center for 5 years. During this time, he has achieved 2 associate degrees from local colleges. He says, “I’ve invested my time with this job as I felt it was a good opportunity for me to gain some work experience. We all treat each other well like family and I enjoy going out of my way to help the staff.”
In addition, Julian is in charge of the students who come through our program and learn how to work in an office environment.
